Children/Funding

Provides grant provision for projects focusing on children. Looking for projects that focus on children and quality, are about changing the lives of children for the better, and involve children in decision making. Children must be under 18 years old and their disadvantages must include mental, physical or sensory disabilities; behavioural or psychological problems; illness, distress, abuse or neglect; or be living in poverty or situations of deprivation.

Starlight Children's Foundation UK is a registered charity which aims to brighten the lives of seriously and terminally ill children between the ages of 4 and 18 by granting their wishes and entertaining them when they are in hospital. The 'wishes' fall into four main categories: travel wishes, experience wishes, tangible items and celebrity wishes. In addition to the wishes, Starlight works in hospitals by organising parties,outing, and providing Starlight Fun Centres which are mobile entertainment nits incorporating a TV, video unit and Nintendo Game Cube. Provides support for parents with a child born without eyes or underdeveloped eyes through raising awareness, encouraging support between families, and providing financial assistance to MACS families who need to purchase equipment or services to help meet their specific needs.
