Dyslexia

National charity acting as a co-ordinator for 96 independent local dyslexia associations and 130 supporting corporate members. Aims to improve awareness of dyslexia through information, education and training. Range of publications available. Helpline open Mon, Wed, Fri, 10am-12.30pm, 2-4.30pm.

Supplies books, guides, teaching packs and equipment for gifted children, dyslexic children and left-handed children. They also arrange psychological assessments and offer legal advice and guidance for SEN children, gifted children, handicapped children and adults.

Helps people with dyslexia of all ages to fulfil their potential by optimising their educational opportunities and quality of life. Offers a comprehensive range of services including consultation, assessment, specialised tuition, speech and language therapy, and counselling. Trains teachers in the special skills needed. Helps schools manage people with dyslexia in the classroom. Raises awareness on how people with dyslexia can be helped.
