Ex-service/Armed Services

Provides Armed Forces and National Service veterans with sight loss with person-centred services and tailored support. Work ranges from helping veterans relearn vital life skills and providing them with the tools they need to be independent in their own homes, to offering new learning, training and recreation opportunities and providing long-term nursing, residential and respite care.

Aims to promote welfare and rehabilitation of disabled ex-service men and women through the participation of sport, sports medicine and any other means deemed legal under charity law.

Provide assistance to ex-service men and women of all ranks of the services and merchant navy suffering from mental health problems due to their service career. Offer up to three weeks respite care and counselling in one of their treatment centres in Ayrshire, Shropshire and Surrey. Have a network of 12 welfare officers who visit in home or hospital and can help with war pensions and appeals.

Provide a welfare and advisory service for the families of service and ex-service men and women; to help them to obtain all benefits from statutory services to which they may be entitled and also from Service and regimental funds; to help with temporary gratns those who are in distress; to represent the cause of these families to the appropriate government department.
