| Description | Provides specialist service for clients whose job seeking needs cannot be met by Employment Service mainstream services. The primary aim of the team is to provide a comprehensive and coherent employment advice and assessment service to people with disabilities and their employers. Help to jobseekers includes in-depth job-seeking advice and information on specialist ES programmes for people with disabilities. Help for employers includes practical and financial help through the Access to Work (ATW) and Job Introduction Scheme (JIS), advice on the Disability Symbol which enables employers to show their commitment to the employment of people with disabilities, and information on the Supported Employment Programme (SPS) for people with more severe disabilities. Disabilities services teams employ Disability Employment Advisors (DEAs) who work in many job centres. Contacted via the local Job Centre. |
