Drinking equipment

Points to consider: - a wide based vessel is more stable; - a lid may help to prevent spillage; - a vessel that is dishwasher and microwave safe can be labour saving; - large handles allow users to put their hands right around the handle, which may facilitate a more secure grip; - 'D', 'T' and 'J' shaped handles provide a variety of grips for users with reduced range of movement or strength; - an unbreakable, ribbed vessel may facilitate grip and be less likely to cause injury if dropped by the user; - a large vessel can be half filled to reduce the risk of spillage, but still provide a good size drink; - colour contrast, either in the form of a coloured vessel or a coloured line through a transparent glass or beaker, may be preferable for a user who is partially sighted.
